What exactly should you do to quickly turn an acidic body into an alkaline body? This article will discuss five tips that will allow you to easily create an alkaline diet plan.

1. Eat More Salads

Salads are one of the best ways to boost your intake of whole fruits and vegetables. But don’t just stick with the same boring old iceberg lettuce and tomatoes. Instead, enhance flavor and boost the nutritional benefits by including a variety of healthy ingredients. And don’t omit the dressing–for the most health benefits, make it from flaxseed oil or olive oil.

2. Hold the Cheese

Some experts on the alkaline diet plan will tell you to skip the cheese entirely, and I can see their point. In addition to being acidifying, cheese is high in calories and saturated fat. Just the same, I believe it’s okay to add a few teaspoons of grated feta, mozzarella, or Parmesan to your salad or vegetable dish.

3. Skip the Chicken, and Use Chicken Broth Instead

Here’s another suggestion that may ruffle the feathers of those who think of the alkaline diet as a vegan or vegetarian diet. Canned chicken broth can be a way to add flavor to soups and other dishes, without contributing many fat or calories. It’s mildly acidifying, but much less so than whole chicken.

4. Boost Flavor (But Not Calories) with Herbs and Spices

Make food taste great without making it acid-producing or boosting your intake of fat or calories? It sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? But it’s actually as easy as adding spices or herbs to your favorite foods. (Some of my favorites are garlic powder, thyme, and dried onion.)

5. Have a Green Drink

A green drink is a healthy alternative to soft drinks. Unlike these acidifying beverages, green drinks help to build an alkaline body. They’re also loaded with vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals. Just blend the green drink powder with water, or mix it with frozen fruit to create a tasty smoothie.

There you have five ways to build an alkaline diet plan without needing a lot of time or money. The sooner you get started, the sooner you will experience an alkaline body–so get started now!
